Now, I’m not really sure what to think about this one.

I never actually thought anyone would create a clock, which only shows us the time when we look at it.

I mean, that in itself sort of sounds strange. How are we supposed to know that it doesn’t show the time when we don’t look at it??

Anyway, bottom line is that it does hide the time when our eyes are not fixed on the screen in which the time is displayed.

The name of the design is called Mr. Clock and is created by Hye Yeon Park.

It is actually supposed to be an art project, rather than an amazing invention, and I feel Mr. Park was playing with the concept of society’s constant stress of time when designing it.

Does time actually happen when you are not worry about it? When we are not looking at it?

Well, in the case of Mr. Clock, when we are not looking at it, only scattered lines appear, but once your eyes are set back in it’s direction, it changes back to showing the time.

I’m not sure just how it is achieved, but at the end of the day it’s a pretty impressive design.

Check out the video for more info.

If there was ever going to be an invention to wipe out the existence of the computer mouse, it would have to come from Apple.

The computer and hi-fi brand are pushing the boundaries further than ever before and now we are starting to think about life after the mouse.

Their new Apple Magic Trakpad is the latest design form the company, allowing users with desktop computers to enjoy the spoils of their laptop famed trakpad.

The device delivers a similarly intuitive Multi-Touch gesture experience that was previously available on Mac notebook trackpads.

It comes as an add on to any keyboard and can sit to either the left or the right of the user, depending on their preference.

The wireless Magic Trackpad lets you scroll smoothly up and down a page with inertial scrolling, alongside other now familiar gestures such as pinch to zoom in and out, rotating an image using your fingertips.

As is the same for the Macbook notebooks, swiping three fingers on the Trakpad will help you flip through a collection of web pages and photos.

The Magic Trackpad can also be configured to work as a single button or two button device, whichever you would prefer.

The good thing about the Magic Trackpad is the price, and for just $70 you can buy one from most Apple and computing stores.

How’s this for technology moving fast.

A university in California has come up with a way to feel objects without even touching them.

Impossible right?

Well, not exactly.

The project they are working on is called the Heads-Up Virtual Reality device, or HUVR.

It basically couples a consumer 3D HDTV panel with a mirror to project any graphic image onto the user’s hands or the area near them.

What happens then is the user’s head is tracked to get the right balance and perspective, and there is a haptic feedback device on hand for manipulation.

So basically it allows you to feel around the objects via an object, rather than actually touching it.

It is perfect when dealing with sensitive parts of the body you cannot touch, for example the spine, or when dealing with deadly objects.

For example, medical researchers can use this for 3D manipulation of brain-scans from an MRI and archaeologists can use this handle an artifact that is too precious to be handled with the hands-on approach.

But the best part about the technology is that is comes with a relatively cheap price tag.

It only uses a $2,300 Samsung 3D TV and a heads up virtual reality system that costs around $7,000.

It’s fair to say that most of the world know about the latest technological craze hitting our market – the iPad.

But it is also fair to say that not everyone would know one it’s biggest selling points, and one the most unique capabilities of the Apple design.

iPad’s allow users to read books, magazines, and newspapers just as easy as actually having on in front of you.

The phenomenon of E-reading is a new concept, but one that will be utilized mush so by iPad users.

But, there is also another brand that caters for E-book readers, and that is Pandigital and their Novel design.

Just like the iPad, the Novel allows for online reading and other cool tablet like features.

The good thing about it is that it is powered by Google’s Android, allowing for much faster connectivity and options that the iPhone cannot access.

The Novel comes with a seven-inch colour touch screen, and has the capabilities of downloading applications and can be used as a media player.

However, as good as it is being able to access and use Google Maps, voice, Calendar, Gmail, and all the other Google applications, you won’t be able to access half of the features Apple offers.

Nevertheless, the Novel is one of the cheapest Ebook readers on the market, and for just $190, it serves its purpose quite well.

Can you remember decades ago when computers operated without mouses???

It’s very strange to think that one day we operated our computers without the ability to navigate and browse in a 3D way.

But now it seems we are ready for the next step.

Allow me to introduce you to the invisible mouse: the MIT Media Lab’s newest creation (Well, I’m not really sure if we can call it a creation when it is invisible!!).

It uses an infrared laser beam and an infrared camera to capture hand movements and accurately translate them into computer commands.

So, basically via a set of lasers, we are able to navigate our computers, just like we could with a standard mouse, only without one!

Pretty cool huh!

We are still unsure exactly how you trigger of certain commands y using your hand, but you would assume it would be easy to pick up once you begin to use it.

We also assume that you click and double click by tapping a finger on the ground in front of the lasers.

It seems this product will not be mass-produced and that it is more of a concept invention at this time.

Therefore, we are not sure where you could pick one of these designs up form, but with technology moving so fast, you would think it is only a matter of time before it really explodes onto the market.

For a better idea of how it works, check out the video…

Our mates at Dell have kept up with the growing computer market, releasing a whole new range of laptops.

The Inspiron R laptops will hit the shelves soon and are all about connecting us to society, while being able to use it as a personal entertainment system, and filing system.

Each one of the notebooks comes in a slick curvy edged design, with smooth lines and a vast range of colours to choose from.

Blue, whit, pink, green and black are some of the shades available, and there are also a few screen sizes on offer.

The Inspiron R comes in 14-inch models that fit perfectly into most messenger and laptop bags, as well as the workstation friendly 15 inch and 17 inch versions.

Some of the great new features of the product include the Dell Dock, which will hasten the process of searching for applications and files on your computer.

Those you need regularly will be placed at the top of the screen for quick and convenient access.

And for those who don’t mind spending a bit extra, they can get their hands on the optional Intel wireless display feature, which allows users to project what’s on the laptop screen onto nearby HDTV screens.

Physically, they’re pretty tough too, with smudge resistant palm rests, a stiff and solid frame and a full size keyboard.

And the best part is that the prices are pretty competitive.

Starting at $450, you can pick up the cheapest version of the Inspiron R, shipped straight from the factory.

First there was the iPod, then there was the iPhone, then the iPad, and now the iBallz!!!

Now i know the name does sound slightly disturbing, but these things are a technology saving design.

The iBallz are designed to ensure safety for your new tablet fir that terrible time when you drop your iPad.

Instead of it just crashing to the floor, it’ll just safely bounce off of the floor thanks to the new rubber product.

The ballz are made up of a long elastic ring with four shock absorbing spheres. All you have to do is put the ring around your iPad or other similarly sized tablet, with a ball on each corner.

Once in place, the ballz will also act as a stand for typing, and elevate it off form the goruond, or whatever surface you are using.

Alternatively, you could also use the ballz as a handle for the tablet gaming.

The new funky products called iBallz are available now for around $20 plus shipping from the iBallz website.

For a product which will ensure the safety of your iPad, and make sure you don’t waster hundreds of dollars, i reckon 20 bucks is a reasonable price!

SO, if you are a fan of robots, read on.

For decades scientists and inventors have been trying to figure out just how to create a robot that can follow instruction and pretty much do what we want it to do.

There a re a lot of cool designs in the machine world, and a lot of advanced inventions which are pretty impressive, but when it comes to having out personal robot, or slave as some may say, we are still a bit behind the eight ball.

This little nifty robot is not quite there yet, in fact it is a fair way off he mark, but it is still a step in the right direction.

The Line Tracking Robot is basically what its name suggests, a robot that follows lines.

You can draw a line in its vision and it will follow it accordingly.

No I know you are all asking what is so important about a robot that can follow lines?

Well, nothing really, but it is still interesting to understand how we can make technology do something like this.

It is also cheap and affordable and a great way to get our young kids, and future inventors to understand about this type of design.

Selling for $20, this robot is really a worthwhile buy.

The latest technology forum has had many surprises, and many interesting inventions across the globe.

One of the more interesting ones to come out of it, comes in the form of a video game.

Now we all know that there is a recent trend to have interactive and enticing games which the public have to get off their backsides to play.

Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft have all achieved this in their recent gaming consoles, but now we have a new player.

Bot Colony, the “First Real Conversation Game Ever”! is all about communicating with the computer screen via a robot.

Users can talk to the game, and it can talk back. We are able to use a microphone to speak to the game, or choose the traditional sense and go with typing in questions.

Apparently, the game can “understand” me, but that is still questionable.

Bot Colony will be available to test out on August 16, 2010, and you can sign up for it here. I believe it is only available for English speakers only, though.

The good thing about communication concept gadgets is that they are no certainly to ever become releases.

Therefore we are able to talk them up as much as we want, cos no one is going to prove us otherwise!!!

The latest communication concept comes in the form of a silver scroll, which rolls out parts that allow a whole new form of technology.

That metal tube has some pop-out feet and can project a keyboard and some textual display in the area in front of you.

I assume there is some sort of sensor to detect the fingers tapping for input, and i guess the sensors can pick up movement over each button when you go to type.

I think that we all know that this is where computers and mobiles are headed.

That is, a projector that can make a keyboard and display and make any wall, tabletop, floor, or ceiling into a PC.

The question is now about how much capabilities they can offer?

Will it be just a text based system for writing and sending emails, or will it allow for top quality graphics and lead to video games and advanced computing??

Time can only tell…..
