There are sports watches, and then there is the Cadence Wrist Rocket.

The Cadence version is by far a better, more improved and advanced version of what really is a very common product.

You see, the Cadence Wrist Rocket has a bit of a twist to it.

To the naked eye it looks nothing more than just a normal watch, but the more you peel the layers away, the more you will be impressed.

Firstly, it has everything you would expect to find in a sports watch; it’s water resistant, has a stopwatch, countdown timer, an alarm, and a resin body and strap.

While it is a large watch, it’s not really a bad thing because that makes the display easy to read, which is important when taking part in sport.

One of the most impressive features of the watch is the dot-matrix style LCD, which really makes it stand out from other watches in the market.

Some may say it really is just a standard LCD sports watch, but I t ink otherwise. I like to think it as a sports watch with something extra.

In summary, the unique styling, great quality and advanced technology, makes the Cadence Wrist Rocket a great buy.

And for just under $50, you really can’t go wrong.

There never seems to be a shortage of video game collectibles and the god news is more are on their way.

With Christmas just around he corner, a perfect present for the old school gamer is a Pac-Man wristwatch.

There may already be a Mickey Mouse wristwatch, one for Mario fans and even one for Sonic lovers, but there has always been a blank space next to the Pac-Man tag, until now.

The design is a bit different to what people might originally think. There is no digital video game application attached to it, no super images of the yellow face, and no special effects.

The watch carries a simple, easy and respectable design, one for those who want to honor the legend of the video game in a classy way.

The most ironic thing in the display of the wristwatch is that the image of Pac-Man is on a second hand of all things. I find this very ironic considering the character ad no arms at all!!!

Yeah, this looks like a watch designed for die-hard Pac-man fans, and there are only going to be 500 of them made, each of them marked with a specific serial number.

The product ill retail for about $130, and there is even a bundle version that includes a free copy of Pac-Man for the computer users.

I don’t know whether you would call this a deal, as you could probably get a watch for a much cheaper price than this. As for the free Pac-Man game, I’m sure you could probably find it on Xbox Live or the Nintendo Wii channel.

Waking up in the morning is probably one of the hardest things for anyone during their day, unless of course, its Christmas, and you’re a kid again!

One of the most annoying things is waking up to that annoying, and brain piercing alarm buzz, or the static noise of some un-tuned radio station.

Luckily for us, new technology in the alarm clock industry has arrived – the vibrating wristwatch!

Now, I have seen various concept designs in my time, but this one takes the cake of thinking outside the square.

As well as annoying the crap out of you, and getting you off to a bad start to the morning, the noises of alarm clock may also have an effect on neighboring housemates, or others sharing your room.

The new vibrating watch ensures it is only you who is woken, and rather than a sudden ‘jump’ out of bed, you are eased into the day via a gentle vibrate of the arm.

The design is a bit bulky in comparison to the sleek concept designs, but at least no one else will see it.

It’d be especially great for brand new parents that don’t want their alarm clock to wake up the baby, or for a traveler sharing dorms with unknowns.

The device can either be strapped to your wrist or put underneath your pillow and shuts off like you normally would any other alarm device.

The vibrating wristwatch retails for around $30 through the online store Thumbs Up UK.

Lok8u Num8 is a piece of new wristwatch technology aimed at ensuring safety for kids.

In case your techno savvy language is a bit out of date, the title is meant to be pronounced, “Locate you new mate”, which is a basic summary of what the watch aims to achieve.

Equipped with a GPS system, the watch acts similar to most tracking devices and will enable parents to keep a close eye on their children, while ensuring they can find them given they go missing.

Given you have access to a mobile phone or a computer, you will be able to locate an individual wearing the GPS watch similar to that in the Google Latitude programme.

Apart from telling the time, the watch also has a bunch of features, which will make it worth the hefty price tag.

Firstly there is the ability to set up ‘safe zones’ that serve as a boundary and if your child crosses these areas you will be notified immediately through email and text messages to your mobile phone. You will then be able to specifically view the area they are in via Google Maps.

You are also able to edit the ‘safe zone’ by time and date allowing you to cater for regular outings without having to change anything.

And if your away from home and want to know where your child is, you can simply text ‘wru’ or ‘where r u?” (for some reason they encourage improper English) to the Loc8u portal and you will then receive a Google Map and/or an address of where your child is located.

The Lok8u Num8 GPS wrist watch is sure to become a popular hit with parents in the future, but with a price tag of around $300 US, coupled with a monthly fee of $10 US, it will be some time before they become a regular piece of used technology.

While I am fascinated by the capability of the new watch, I still have my reservations over weather or not ‘tagging’ children is ethical and accepting of the privacy lines in society.

Casio G-Shock is back with an even more powerful and advanced wrist-watch for the diving lovers.

Casio recently unveiled its newest wristwatch, the Casio G-Shock GWF-1000 Frogman, a top of the range radio controlled diving watch.

Believe it or not, it is now possible to party hundreds of meters underwater, listening to the radio with some of earth’s sea creatures!

Not only has Casio G-Force created a watch which can maintain waterproof qualities even 200m underwater, but has created a machine capable of enabling radio reception and supporting up to six world-standard radio stations.

Other than water and shock resistant capabilities, the Frogman is also equipped with a 48 cities (31 time zones) show time, Dive Log, Dive Time, five alarms, Tough Solar technology and EL backlight.
The watch also comes with a special asymmetrical design with an engraved Frogman logo on the stainless steel back, making it the stand out among the rest of the G-Shock family as the true diver’s watch.

The Frogman may not be the most pleasing wristwatch on the eye. In fact, its bulky, machine like design, makes it near impossible to wear out in public.

However, that just makes it even more of a divers watch as it should only be used for its creative purpose – diving.

The Casio G-Shock GWF-1000 Frogman will go on sale on September 20th for approximately $700 US.

It can be purchased online Via the Casio website or in selected stores across the globe.

Ever felt like you wanted the time tattooed on your wrist? Well, thanks to new electric tattoo technology, it is now possible!

In basic terms, it is a wrist watch implanted into your wrist which uses natural kinetic energy for power, and it uses a wireless signal to sync up to an external clock to make certain your wrist is always on time.

While it appears to the human eye as just a tattoo of a particular time, it actually changes as the time it is synced to does.

Without a doubt, this is one of the most interesting tattoos/technologies I have come across, and it will be interesting to see how many embrace it.

Making gadget watches is not exactly a new phenomenon. The Casio Calculator watch has been around for dog’s years. Regardless, there are still plenty of cool gadget watches you can strap to your wrist.

Calculator Watch by Casio
This cool time piece is about as retro a gadget as you can get and even appeals to a few quirky individuals today. Do sums on the go – if doing them on your phone isn’t cool enough.

Musical Watch
The musical watch is another cool jump in the gadget watches market. Musical watches don’t just beep, they chime, play tunes or even voice recordings. Musical watches with the James Bond theme song are perfect for the geek inside you.

TV Watch
If watching TV on your mobile phone isn’t enough, you can now watch TV on your watch. It is really only a new gadget because LCD screens are shrinking in size and price.

GPS Watch
If you don’t buy into the Big Brother-esque hype, the personal tracker watch is a great idea for those who need to be tracked (and aren’t criminals). Backpackers, climbers and other explorers could really improve their chances of surviving epic and dangerous journeys with a GPS tracker watch. Unfortunately, these probably won’t be available for general release any time soon, but the interest will undoubtedly be there.

If you’re serious about running, the Suunto t6c Running Pack is a comprehensive performance pack that gives a complete analysis of training sessions with equipment designed to maximise comfort.

The Suunto t6c heart rate monitor analyses the seven key physiological parameters including real-time EPOC to determine your heart rate.

With real-time Training Effect, you get an accurate measure of how hard your body is working in one quick glance. You can track your Training Effect over time to take the guesswork out of your training schedule.

You can also get a read out of your EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption level), which lets you measure your training load and make adjustments for future sessions.

The Suunto t6c tells you how your body performs at different altitudes and you can see how modifications to your training schedule affect your performance. With real time speed/distance information, you have a lab-accurate monitor to record your stats when you run. There is no need for guesswork with the Suunto t6c heart rate monitor and Running Pack.

Included in the Suunto t6c Running pack is the T6C Heart Rate Monitor, Feather-Light Foot POD & Heart Rate Chest Strap.
