The Window Fridge

Don’t you hate it when you’re starving, craving your favourite snack or meal and you open the fridge and just can’t find it?

You end up standing there, fridge door open, for minutes looking for it when you finally realize all the cold air has gone and worst of all, you still can’t find the food you desire!

Well, the good news is there is a new invention to prevent this annoyance from occurring too often.

Japanese designers, Yoon jung Kim and Jong rok Lee, have developed a new convectional refrigerator called the Window Fridge, which apparently turns the fridge door see-through when touched.

The door has some special glass in it that is normally opaque, however, if you run a current through it, it will turn transparent, allowing users to see straight through and into the fridge’s contents.

Another little addition to the glass trick the fridge offers is the outstanding and unique feature known as ‘sections’.

In short, the refrigerator does not just have one or two doors, but many, meaning if you want to categorize your foods, and sort them by the five compartment doors, then you can.

At this stage there is no word on when the Window Fridge will be available on the market, and at this stage it is purely just a conceptual design.

However, the benefits it offers are clear, literally, so let’s hope it’s out soon!
