Samsung B2700

With a plastic and hardened rubber casing, the Samsung B2700 is rugged and tough looking and not for the fashion-minded. But if you’r eafter a phone that has a decent media player and can make calls, you’re in luck with the B2700.

The left side of the device hosts the volume rocker button and below that lies a plastic flap and proprietary port for the included headphones, USB and charger. The right features two buttons to control the camera and flashlght. At the top is the bulb for the flashlight (not the on/off switch).

The rubber keypad has decent-sized keys that even large, stubby fingers can operate without too much drama. And being dust and water resistant, there are no gaps between the keys. This also means the microSD slot is tucked away behind the battery. In fact, the only parts not made of rubber are the 2-mega pixel camera lens and the 1.9-inch screen.

Besides looking burley, what can this phone do? Well apart from basic phone functions, not much. It is quad-band GPRS/EDGE compatible (850/900/1800/1900MHz) and supports Bluetooth with A2DP for streaming to a compatible headset. It doesn’t have GPS or WiFi but does give you the option to expand to up to 8GB with a microSD card.
